Celecoxib (Celebrex) is a medication that belongs to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) family of drugs. It’s a COX-2 inhibitor.

A celecoxib prescription works by blocking the production of the prostaglandins enzyme in your body. Decreasing the amount of this enzyme helps reduce pain and swelling.
