How to get Seasonique online in Canada with Maple.

First, choose your symptoms

Select your symptoms within the Maple app so the doctor can evaluate your symptoms and condition. Enter as much information as possible so that the doctor can make a thorough assessment.

If you don’t have employer / insurer coverage, fees may apply since many of our services aren’t covered by provincial health plans. This is often because of our use of secure messaging and a national network of doctors and nurse practitioners.

Payment may be required, and will include the prescriptions for Seasonique if the doctor deems it necessary.

Next, you'll hear from the doctor

Once you’ve entered your symptoms, a doctor or nurse practitioner will review your case. If they’re able to help, your visit will start; if they can’t help, you’ll be notified before your consultation begins and you won’t be charged. You’re only charged if you speak with a Maple doctor.

Most often, you’ll speak to your doctor or nurse practitioner over text, though they may request audio or video chat if it’ll help with your diagnosis.

Get your medication

You'll get a prescription right on Maple, so you can send it to any pharmacy for pickup, or you can have it shipped with free delivery.

In some cases, a prescription won’t be recommended by the doctor. They will let you know if this is the case. Doctors may also not be able to prescribe some medications in certain provinces or regions.

Note: Maple is not a pharmaceutical manufacturer, nor are we an online pharmacy. This means you'll need to buy the medication from the pharmacy itself once you have your prescription.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Seasonique and how does it work?

Seasonique is a combination hormone medication that is primarily used to prevent pregnancy. It works by preventing ovulation, keeping sperm from reaching an egg should one be released, and ensuring fertilized eggs travel out of the body.

Seasonique is also used to make periods more regular and less frequent, reduce blood flow and painful periods, decrease the risk of ovarian cysts, and treat acne. This medication will not protect you or your partner from STDs or STIs.

How do you use Seasonique?

Seasonique should be taken by mouth as directed by a doctor, once daily with or without food. The pill pack contains 84 estrogen/progestin pills and 7 estrogen-only pills. Take one estrogen/progestin pill daily for 84 days in a row. The day after you finish all the combination pills, start taking one estrogen-only pill daily for 7 days in a row. You should have your period during the week you are taking estrogen-only pills. The day after you take the last estrogen-only pill, start a new pack whether or not you have your period. If you did not get your period, consult a doctor. If this is the first time you are taking this medication, use an additional form of non-hormonal birth control for the first 7 days.

What are the side effects and risks of Seasonique?

Some common side effects of Seasonique include:

  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Headache
  • Bloating, swelling of ankles/feet, weight gain
  • Breast tenderness
  • Spotting
  • Increased risk of blood clots
  • Increased risk of some hormone dependent tumours

Some users may also experience breast lumps, mental/mood changes, severe stomach/abdominal pain, unusual changes in vaginal bleeding, dark urine, or jaundice. If any of these severe side effects occur, consult a doctor immediately.

How do I stop taking Seasonique birth control?

You can stop taking Seasonique at any time. If you are stopping this medication in order to conceive, consult a doctor first. Other contraceptives should be used if you do not want to become pregnant after going off Seasonique.

Who should not take Seasonique?

Seasonique should not be taken by those who are pregnant or smokers over the age of 35. It should also not be taken if any of these conditions apply: untreated or controlled high blood pressure, heart disease, a blood-clotting disorder or circulation problems, unusual vaginal bleeding, liver disease, a history of jaundice, or problems with the eyes or kidneys.

If you have any questions about the medication, you can speak to a doctor on Maple by registering for an account.
