Accessibility Standards

We have a duty to comply with applicable accessibility legislation and regulation such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.0 level AA standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).

We will ensure that our website, online content, and applications (“apps”) conform to the WCAG 2.0 level A by June 30, 2021 and level AA by January 1, 2022.

Website Accessibility Statement

We work with eSSENTIAL Accessibility to ensure our website meets accessibility standards and obligations. We have conducted automatic and manual audits since October 26, 2020 to identify accessibility issues and to create a plan for remediation. All critical issues found on our most visited web pages have been resolved as of December 31, 2020. By May 31, 2021 we will remediate all outstanding issues from our audits. Going forward, we will continuously monitor for any additional accessibility issues and ensure that all new website content meets the same standards.

In partnership with eSSENTIAL Accessibility, we provide an assistive technology application for people who have trouble typing, gesturing, moving a mouse, or reading. This application is free to download and it incorporates tools such as mouse and keyboard replacements, voice recognition, speech enablement, hands-free/touch-free navigation, and more.

App Accessibility Statement

We have multiple customer-facing applications on the web (“web apps”) and on mobile (“mobile apps”) to service patients and healthcare providers. We are committed to delivering on the following key milestones to comply with applicable legislation and regulation:

  • Complete full evaluation of our Android and iOS mobile patient applications at WCAG 2.1 level by March 31, 2021 and remediate findings by June 30, 2021; any exceptions will be tracked and communicated accordingly.
  • Deliver AODA required reporting by June 30, 2021.
  • Complete full evaluation of our web healthcare provider applications and remediate findings by December 31, 2021; any exceptions will be tracked and communicated accordingly.
  • Complete full evaluation of our mobile healthcare provider application and remediate findings by March 31, 2022; any exceptions will be tracked and communicated accordingly.
